How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord is a manga series that is based on Yukiya Murusaki’s light novel series. The series has been published by J-Novel Club since December 4, 2017 and has been adapted into a manga series by Naoto Fukuda. It first appeared in Suiyobi no Sirius in June 2015.

The popular Crunchyroll stream, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, is now available in a less censored version! The fan-favorite fanservice series ran for 10 episodes before its abrupt end before the official Spring 2021 anime season. This uncensored version includes all the episodes and special scenes from the first season.
The original manga series How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, published in 2006, had sold nearly one million copies before the anime’s release. In addition, the postseason one light novel sales tripled. It also received a successful digital release with sales of over 6000 units.
Though the anime has received mixed reviews, the creators are still hopeful that season three will be released. The second season received a 6.73 rating on MyAnimeList, while the first season only managed a 5.94 rating. Season three is expected to drop sometime in late 2023 or 2024.
